Hikvision Face Recognition Integration
Yes — Openitem supports Hikvision. Hikvision access-control terminals, including its facial recognition terminals, are supported through Wygress, Openitem’s entry, attendance and occupancy platform. Wygress connects to each terminal directly over Hikvision’s ISAPI interface, keeps the people on it in step with Openitem, and passes every scan back to Openitem as an access log.
Supported Hikvision terminals
- Face recognition terminals — for example the MinMoe DS-K1T673DWX. Each person’s face is loaded onto the terminal from their Openitem profile photo.
- Face + fingerprint terminals — for example the DS-K1T342MFWX-E1, or a DS-K1T673DWX fitted with Hikvision’s USB fingerprint module. Fingerprints enrolled through Wygress are kept centrally and put back on any Hikvision fingerprint terminal the person is given access to.
- Enrolment stations — the DS-K1F600U-D6E-F desktop station, for capturing faces and fingerprints at a reception desk or security office.
Wygress reads what each terminal reports about itself — whether it has a fingerprint sensor, its face capacity, its door and tamper state — rather than relying on the model name, so other Hikvision terminals that speak ISAPI work the same way. Confirm a proposed model with us before installation.

What the integration does
- People and faces sync automatically — residents, staff and visitors with access are pushed to the right Hikvision terminals, and removed when their access ends.
- Every scan becomes an Openitem access log — granted or denied, with how the person identified: face, fingerprint, card or a combination.
- Remote door opening — a Hikvision door can be opened from Wygress and Openitem.
- Visitors — pre-registered visitors can be given time-limited access on Hikvision terminals.
- Device monitoring — online status, live door and tamper state, snapshots from the terminal camera, and audio and voice-prompt settings, all managed from the Wygress dashboard.
