Gallagher Command Centre Integration
Yes — Openitem supports Gallagher. Openitem connects to Gallagher Command Centre through the Command Centre REST API, so an estate or site that already runs Gallagher controllers and doors keeps them, and adds Openitem’s visitor management, resident app and Guard app on top. Gallagher stays the system that controls the doors; Openitem becomes the place where people, visitors and access history come together.
What the Gallagher integration does
- Cardholder sync — Gallagher cardholders, with their photos, are brought into Openitem as contacts. A cardholder Openitem has not seen before is synced automatically the first time they badge at a door.
- Door events as access logs — Openitem polls Command Centre for access events and records each one as an Openitem access log against the right person, unit and checkpoint, so Gallagher entries sit in the same history as gate-app, visitor and facial-recognition entries.
- Remote door opening — a Gallagher door can be opened from Openitem, for example by a guard in the Guard app or by a resident using Smart Door Unlock.
- Gate events posted to Command Centre — entries and exits captured by Openitem at the gate are posted back to Command Centre as external events, so Gallagher operators see Openitem activity in their own event view. Events that came from Gallagher are never posted back, and each event is posted only once.
- Doors and divisions — Openitem reads the Command Centre doors and divisions, so Openitem checkpoints can be mapped to the Gallagher doors they control.
What you need
- Gallagher Command Centre with the REST API licensed and enabled.
- A REST Client item and API key created in Command Centre for Openitem.
- Network access from Openitem to the Command Centre REST API endpoint.
- Optionally, an external event type in Command Centre, if you want Openitem gate events to appear in Gallagher.
