Hardware and Integrations

Two different questions get asked together and answered differently. What does Openitem supply? and what does Openitem talk to? Most sites need some of both.

Hardware we supply

Biometric terminals, gate controllers, UHF and NFC readers, handheld scanners and badge printers, bought and supported through us and driven by the same records as the app. See access control hardware.

Systems we connect to

Access control panels, cameras, community portals, club and hospitality systems, payment gateways and utility platforms that are already on site and staying there. Openitem reads and writes to them rather than replacing them — see integrations and custom development, or the full list of integrations.

The distinction matters when you are costing a site. Hardware is a purchase; an integration is configuration against something you already run. A typical estate buys a terminal or two at the gatehouse and integrates everything else.
